Prof. Dr. hab. Eng. Tadeusz Pustelny

Professor Tadeusz Pustelny has been employed at the Silesian University of Technology since 1974. He obtained the title of professor in 2006 and, since 2009, he has been employed as a full professor. Currently, he is the head of the Department of Optoelectronics.

Professor Pustelny carried out research in the fields of physical and technical acoustics, acoustoelectronics and acoustic spectroscopy. Later he got involved in analyzing electronic phenomena in layered structures in semiconductors. Currently, he conducts intensive research in the fields of photonics, optoelectronics, optical metrology and photovoltaics as well as in medical engineering.

Professor Tadeusz Pustelny is the author and co author of over 150 scientific papers, indexed in the Web of Science and SCOPUS databases, cited over 1,500 times (Hirsch index 22). He is a supervisor of 10 completed PhD dissertations. He was a reviewer of over 50 PhD theses and of several dozen postdoctoral (habilitation) dissertations and applications for the title of professor.

Professor Pustelny was involved in many centrally financed research projects. He collaborates with various international and national research centers. He was and is a member of many international and national scientific societies and a member of their management boards. He is a member of scientific boards of international scientific journals, including: SENSORS, Optica Applicata, Archives of Acoustics. He is a founder of the Metrological and Technological Center of Excellence of Optoelectronics and Acoustoelectronics. For his scientific activity, he has been awarded with multiple scientific awards (twice with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Award) and with state orders.
