The supercontinuum source is a source of light of a broad spectral range from 410 to 2400 nm with single-mode emission, high spatial coherence and high optical power density (total power: 5.5 W, total power in the visible range: 1.5 W). The source has the repetition rate regulated in the range from 0.15 to 78 MHz.
The supercontinuum source together with the set of optical spectrum analyzers (station no. 55) enables spectral characterization (for example attenuation measurement, chromatic dispersion measurement) of optical fibers and optical components in a broad wavelength range.
