About us
The Laser Micromachining Laboratory (LML) is a part of the Department of Field Theory, Electronic Systems and Optoelectronics at the Faculty of Electronics of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. In the last decade, the group has developed many new important solutions (technologies) in laser micromachining
- prototyping of microoptics and LOC structures,
- production and characterization of medical implants (biodegradable coronary stents),
- laser metallization of AlN ceramics and production of metamaterials based on AIN ceramics,
- production of hydrophobic layers (through nanostructuring, such as the formation of laser-induced periodic surface structures, LIPSS),
- development of technology for reproducible color marking of metals with laser light (Gold Medal Brussels Innova 2012),
- development of laser-induced coatings increasing the corrosion resistance of the austenitic steels.
The group’s specialty is also the laser modification of materials and analysis of physicochemical properties of polymers modified with laser light.
