The Single Photon Applications Laboratory (SPALAB) deals with experimental and theoretical works in the field of quantum communication and the interaction of single photons with isolated quantum systems. In particular, the research concerns long-distance quantum communication, where optical fibers or satellite links are used to send information carriers. The second research area is the interaction of atomic media with quantum light.
