Wroclaw University of Science and Technology
The station comprises an advanced fiber optic splicer and a set of necessary accessories. It is intended for splicing both standard optical fibers widely used in fiber optic telecommunications and special optical fibers, enabling the fabrication of advanced fiber optic systems. In the case of splicing PM or PCF fibers, the assurance of perfect rotational alignment of the fiber structures can be a crucial factor. It is possible due to the possibility of observation of both fiber end faces during their rotation.
The workstation can also produce specialized fiber optic structures such as fiber tappers or shaped fiber optic terminations with the help of controlling arc sweeping and fiber pulling during the process. Furthermore, when it is necessary to recoat a double-clad optical fiber or to obtain the shortest and most flexible fiber splice possible, the stand is equipped with accessories for reconstructing the primary coating on the spliced fibers.
