The bench is equipped with an ultra-stable, low-noise optical frequency comb based on an erbium femtosecond laser with a spectrum extended to the 1050-2100 nm range. Additional equipment on the bench includes a Menlo Orange ytterbium femtosecond laser. This setup enables the research work on advanced high-resolution laser spectroscopy. Thanks to its high stability and broad spectrum, it is also possible to use the bench for a wide range of applications related to: optical frequency measurement, optical carrier transfer, generation of stable optical clock signals and their distribution, and as an ultra-stable time and frequency standard.
