Contact person :

The station allows for fabrication of Bragg gratings in optical fibers. Thanks to the use of two different inscription methods: “point-by-point” and through the phase mask, it is additionally possible to fabricate Fabry-Perot interferometers based on Bragg gratings, as well as to introduce modifications of Bragg gratings (chirped gratings, tilted gratings, pi-shifted gratings), required depending on the targeted applications. The use of femtosecond laser allows for fabricating of gratings  in silica fibers (also without the need to remove the protective coating), in planar waveguides, and fluoride fibers for applications above 1.5 μm.

Elements included in the station:

  • Pulsed femtosecond laser (PHAROS PH-6W-1mJ-1000kHz-SP) with a variable repetition rate and an automatic harmonic module A-2H-3H (wavelengths 1030nm, 515nm, and 343nm) with a computer and attached software
  • Ultra-precise linear stages/tables (Aerotech X -ABL1500 and Y -ANT95L) with controller and software
