A specialized laboratory of spectrometric research methods dedicated to chemical and physical sensorics includes stations and systems for the controlled production, dosing and measurement of standard gas mixtures containing the specific analyte being tested, from ppb or ppm concentration levels (depending on the type of substance). The infrastructure enables the study of the processes of physical and chemical sorption of analytes on sensor nanostructures. The tested gas analytes will include pairs of organic volatile compounds, the so-called VOC, oxidizing gases, e.g. NO2, reducing gases, e.g. NH3, H2, hydrocarbons and others. It is possible to study the mechanisms of interaction between a photonic or microelectronic nanostructure and a specific analyte (research character) and to calibrate and test the cross-sensitivity of commercial sensor solutions. The constructed stations allow research and commercial entities to test their sensor solutions in conditions of exposure to a stable, reference gas mixture and draw conclusions about their practical usefulness in operational conditions.

Elements included in the station:

  • VOC generation system with instrumentation ensuring safety of use;
  • FT-IR spectrometer for testing gas mixtures and analyte/sensor structure interaction studies (replaceable gas cells and optical path elements) with the option of building external optical systems for testing MWIR/LWIR detectors;
  • Gas chromatograph with a set of detectors (including a mass spectrometer) and chromatographic columns for measuring various types (categories) of gases, operating in the coupled analysis mode with an FT-IR spectrometer and a thermodesorber system;
  • Chemiluminescent analyzer of nitro compounds;
  • Optical spectrum analyzers in the infrared range;
  • Systems of precise dosing of gas mixtures.

Pricing (netto):

  • Testing and checking the operation of gas sensors (the price depends on the type and number of sensors, the type of analytes and the concentration range of the analyte being tested, the number of analytes, etc.): from PLN 1000 net/hour
  • Testing the cross-sensitivity and selectivity of gas sensors, generating a corrosive environment and testing sensors in this environment – price depending on the type of sensors and the composition of gas mixtures: from PLN 1000 net/hour
  • Calibration or determination of the composition of gas mixtures (depending on the type and concentration of analytes in test mixtures): from PLN 500 net/hour
