MSc. Eng. Artur Binczewski
He received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Poznan University of Technology in 1993. Currently, he is the Head of the Network Technology Division at the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC). He leads the team responsible for development and maintenance of the Polish Optical Internet network – PIONIER and the Poznan Metropolitan Area Network. Artur Binczewski was involved in several EC and national research projects: e.g. SEQUIN, ATRIUM, 6NET, EMANICS, FEDERICA, GEYSERS, NOVI, GN1/GN2/GN3/GN4, OpenQKD and NLPQT. He also coordinated the PORTA OPTICA STUDY, PHOSPHORUS, NEWMAN, 100NET, ALIEN and FELIX projects. He is coordinating the PIONIER-LAB project included in the Polish Roadmap of Research Infrastructures. He is also the main Polish representative in the GÉANT consortium and a member of the EOSC Landscape WG.
His main research activities concern architectural aspects of Control and Management Planes in optical networks, protocols for next generation networks and advanced multimedia streaming (8K and beyond digital cinemas), time and frequency distribution systems and Quantum Key Distribution.
