Dr. hab. Eng. Jarosław Sotor
He is the head of the Department of Field Theory, Electronic Systems and Optoelectronics at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. He obtained his PhD in technical sciences in 2011 and received his habilitation in 2015. He conducts research on generation and amplification systems for ultra-short light pulses in all-fiber optical systems and solid- state lasers. He is the author of pioneering works in applications of new nanomaterials (graphene, black phosphorus, topological insulators and metallic carbon nanotubes) for passive mode-locking in pulse lasers. In his work, he strives to implement practical applications of fundamental research results. He is a co-inventor of many original constructions of laser systems used in several research laboratories. He actively collaborates with research groups from the Maria Skłodowska-Curie University, Institute of Electronic Materials Technology, Warsaw University of Technology and University of Shenzhen as well as with companies such as Trumpf GmbH. He is a co-author of over 85 publications indexed in JCR (cited over 2,300 times).
