Dr. Eng. Kamil Barczak
Dr. Eng. Kamil Barczak has been employed at the Silesian University of Technology as an academic teacher since 2007. Until 2009, he was employed at the Institute of Physics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. Then, after reorganization of the University, he was employed as an assistant professor. He obtained his PhD in physical sciences in 2006. From 01/10/2007 to 30/09/2008, he worked as an assistant at the Silesian University of Technology, and, since 01/10/2008, he has been employed as an assistant professor.
Scientific activity of Dr. Eng. Barczak is focused on studies of:
- polarization properties of optical fibers,
- magneto-optical properties of optical fibers and diamagnetic glasses,
- fiber optic current sensors for power applications,
- fiber optic current sensors with external processing for power applications,
- electrical properties, in particular the insulating properties of fiber optic current
sensors with external processing.
Dr. Eng. Barczak is the author and co-author of 27 scientific papers (Hirsch index H = 7, number of citations 171). He is the supervisor of 16 engineering theses (projects) and 7 master’s theses. He participated in the implementation of 4 research projects, in one of them as the PI.
