Dr. Eng. Maciej Kowalczyk
The main subject of his research are mode-locked femtosecond lasers. In his research, he is looking for new active media and new saturable absorbers to generate the shortest possible pulses (<100 fs). During his doctoral studies, his experiments mainly included iterbic oscillators, which emit radiation in the 1 μm spectral range. Currently, he is working on tulle- holm lasers that work in the further infrared frequency range at wavelengths of 2 μm and 2.3 μm. He was a PI in the Etiuda project (NCN) and was awarded, among others, a START scholarship of the Foundation for Polish Science and Max Born scholarship of the city of Wrocław.
