Dr. Eng. Marcin Procek
Marcin Procek has been employed at the Optoelectronics Department of the Silesian University of Technology since 2016, as an assistant until 2018 and later as an assistant professor. In 2018, he completed a three-month postdoctoral internship at the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona IMB-CNM.
In his scientific work, he focuses primarily on broadly defined gas sensorics with particular emphasis on electrochemical sensors based on nanostructures, thin layers of wide-band semiconductors, conductive polymers and materials of biological origin. He is also interested in optical sensorics and biosensorics. He also specializes in the characterization of materials and nanomaterials using electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and spectroscopic methods. During his scientific career he worked in five research projects, of both basic and applied character. He is a co-author of over 20 scientific publications indexed in the WoS and Scopus databases (Hirsch index = 10) and of two granted patents.
He was the beneficiary of scholarship programs co-financed by the European Union: SWIFT (Scholarships Supporting Innovative Technology Forum) and DoktoRIS – Scholarship Program for Innovative Silesia”.
