Dr. hab. Yuriy Stepanenko
He graduated from the Dnipro National University (Ukraine) in 1997. Afterwards he moved to Poland and started his PhD studies at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPC PAS), where he obtained his PhD degree in physical chemistry in 2002. The degree of the Doctor of Science (habilitation), he received from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw in 2012. During his scientific career he worked at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw. He also spent several years in the USA, where he completed postdoctoral internships at the University of Nevada and the Montana State University. Currently he is the leader of the Laser Center and an associate professor in the Institute of Physical Chemistry.
Yuriy Stepenanko is a recognized specialist in the fields of high energy pulse lasers and fiber femtosecond lasers. He has extensive experience in the modelling, design, implementation and characterization of laser sources of femtosecond pulses, development of new measurement methods in nonlinear optics and ultrafast laser spectroscopy techniques. He developed and built many innovative femtosecond lasers, pulse amplifiers, laser diagnostic devices and optical experimental setups. He has published over 40 articles, co-authored 9 patents and 4 patent applications.
