The quantum interfaces test bench enables the study of elements for the transfer of quantum information between different experimental platforms. It enables the transformation of the properties of optical signals carrying quantum information so that they can interact efficiently with other elements of quantum networks. It also enables the study of new quantum interfaces. The setup consists of electro-optical interfaces with the bandwidth up to 32 GHz – in particular, it includes a 2-channel arbitrary waveform generator. The key element of the setup, which enables the characterization of the transformed light pulses, is a complex optical spectrum analyzer with high resolution (5 MHz), which enables the measurement of both the amplitude and the spectral phase of optical signals. In addition, the station has access to the dark fiber network of the University of Warsaw connected to the PIONIER network.

Elements included in the station:

  • arbitrary electronic waveform generator, 2 channel, 32 GHZ band, 92 GS / s, Keysight M8196A;
  • fiber optic femtosecond laser tunable in the wavelength range 1900 nm – 2100 nm;
  • combined optical spectrum analyzer (complex optical spectrum analyzer, resolution 5 MHz, wavelength range: 1525 nm – 1607 nm, the ability to measure amplitude and spectral phase, APEX2681A)
